Allen Hoskins joined the "Our Gang" series in 1922 at the age of two, and he portrayed the character of "Farina" until 1931. Farina was known for his distinctive hairstyle of tightly curled hair. Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Farina……Those nicknames were awesome; that’s why even those of us who grew up watching reruns on Saturday morning can remember them so well.
And the show was funny……..Black kids, white kids, boys, girls all having fun together. In the 1930’s.
